Last updated 22 September 2026

This page says exactly what we record when you visit manybranches.co or our blog, why we record it, and how to have it deleted. It is short because there is not much of it.

If we emailed you a link

Outreach links carry a token. Following one sets a cookie named mb_r in your browser for 90 days, and that cookie is tied to the address we wrote to. While it is set, we record each page you open here, along with your IP address, your country, your browser, the network you connected from, and the site that sent you here.

Since 22 September 2026 we also record how long the page was actually visible, how far down the page you read, and which parts of it held your attention.

We do this for one reason. We would rather know whether what we sent you was any use than guess, and we would rather follow up because you read something than because a calendar told us to.

Everyone else

Every visit adds to a running count for that page and that day: how many people opened it, how many read it, and how long they spent. That count holds no IP address, no browser, no cookie and no name. There is no row for you in it, and nothing in it can be traced back to anyone.

Before 22 September 2026 we recorded nothing at all for visitors without a cookie, which meant we could not tell an article nobody read from one nobody had been sent. The daily count exists to answer that question and no other.

Our blog

blog.manybranches.co reports to this site in the same two ways, which it did not do before 22 September 2026. We record an article you read while carrying the cookie the same way we record a page here. An article read by anyone else adds to the same anonymous daily count.

What we do not do

The site is served through Cloudflare, so Cloudflare handles the request the way any host handles a request. That is the whole of their involvement now.

Asking us to delete it

Write to hello@manybranches.co and we will delete what we hold about you. You do not have to explain why, and it reaches both of us rather than a ticket queue. Clearing cookies for this site stops the named half of this immediately, from your end, without asking us.

If this changes

The date at the top of this page moves when the page does. We would rather write the uncomfortable version of this page than a comfortable one that is quietly wrong, which is why we name the removals above with their date.
